Florian Wirtz became one of the most expensive transfers this summer when he joined Liverpool for €125 million, following a standout spell with Bayer Leverkusen.
However, the German midfielder has endured a slow start in the Premier League. Despite appearing in nearly every match, he has yet to score and has only registered one assist across ten games.
In light of Wirtz’s struggles, Real Madrid manager Xabi Alonso has asked his club to keep tabs on his situation at Anfield. This interest may stem from Alonso’s past connection with Wirtz during his time at Leverkusen.
It’s reported that Wirtz is unhappy at Liverpool, which could increase the likelihood of a move. Still, Liverpool would probably resist selling another star, especially after losing Trent Alexander-Arnold on a free transfer.
