Ruben Amorim has marked his first year in charge at Manchester United by implementing strict rules aimed at improving discipline across the squad.
According to The Athletic, Amorim now requires that half of his players sign autographs before a match at Old Trafford, with the remaining half signing after the game.
While many players previously preferred pre-match signings, they have adhered to the new system, reflecting Amorim’s focus on professionalism.
Beyond autograph protocols, Amorim has targeted broader discipline issues, citing late arrivals to training and unprofessional conduct as unacceptable.
Notably, Alejandro Garnacho and Marcus Rashford were temporarily removed from the squad due to disciplinary concerns, highlighting the coach’s zero-tolerance approach.

Amorim has also emphasized that players can redeem themselves through hard work, with Casemiro serving as a prime example.

Initially considered a last-choice midfielder, Casemiro has become a pivotal figure in the squad under Amorim’s guidance.
The Portuguese coach, despite early turbulence including threats to resign, appears to have settled at Old Trafford thanks to an upturn in results and strong relationships with CEO Omar Berrada and sporting director Jason Wilcox.
Amorim’s blend of tactical discipline and strict squad management is aimed at restoring Manchester United’s identity both on and off the pitch.
