A former Premier League manager could return to Anfield if Liverpool decide to part ways with Arne Slot following a 3-0 home defeat to Nottingham Forest.
The loss marked the heaviest home defeat in the club’s Premier League history and left Liverpool with just one win in their last seven league matches.
The Reds now sit in the bottom half of the table after 11 games, despite spending 450 million pounds on new signings during the summer.
Pre-season expectations of a title challenge have given way to mounting pressure on Slot, who won the league in his first season but now faces scrutiny after the dramatic downturn.

Klopp Leads Odds to Replace Arne Slot
Bookmakers have installed Jurgen Klopp as the favourite to replace Slot.
The German spent nearly nine seasons in charge at Liverpool, winning every major trophy during his tenure, before stepping down in 2024 due to a lack of energy.
Since leaving, Klopp has served as Global Head of Soccer for Red Bull, overseeing their club network, and has not ruled out a return to Anfield.
He stated recently, “I said I will never coach a different team in England so that means, if I did return, then it’s Liverpool. So, yeah, theoretically it is possible.”
Other potential candidates include Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner, Bournemouth’s Andoni Iraola, Unai Emery, Julian Nagelsmann, and Diego Simeone.
Glasner has won the UEFA Europa League and the FA Cup, while Iraola has impressed with Bournemouth’s attacking style. Odds for the top contenders currently stand at:
Jurgen Klopp – 4/1
Oliver Glasner – 5/1
Andoni Iraola – 6/1
Unai Emery – 12/1
Julian Nagelsmann – 14/1
Diego Simeone – 16/1
Fabien Hurzeler – 16/1
Zinedine Zidane – 16/1
Marco Silva – 16/1
Roberto De Zerbi – 16/1
Xabi Alonso – 16/1
Mauricio Pochettino – 16/1
The decision on Slot’s future will be closely watched, with supporters eager to see if the club moves swiftly to stabilize a faltering campaign.
