
WWE has officially changed the name of its upcoming NXT special featuring TNA Wrestling stars.
Originally titled “Invasion”, the event will now be called “Showdown” after reports of negative reactions to the original name.

During last week’s NXT broadcast, several TNA wrestlers invaded the show, disrupting the main event between Oba Femi and Trick Williams.
The chaos culminated in a massive brawl between both rosters.
At NXT No Mercy, General Manager Ava announced a special episode featuring NXT versus TNA on October 7.

The card will include two 5-on-5 elimination matches, plus a high-stakes “winner takes all” tag team championship bout between NXT Tag Team Champions DarkState and TNA Tag Team Champions The Hardys.
However, Sky News Arabia reported that the “Invasion” name sparked backlash in Israel due to the significance of the October 7 date.
Although WWE hasn’t officially confirmed the reason, the event is now officially titled “Showdown.”On tonight’s episode of NXT, General Manager Ava and TNA’s Director of Authority Santino Marella are expected to reveal the participants for each team.
