Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo has once again found himself at the center of transfer speculation, as Chelsea reportedly decides against pursuing a move for the Ghanaian striker.
Semenyo, who has netted eight goals in 16 Premier League appearances this season, has a £65 million release clause in his contract, which can be activated during the first two weeks of January.
This has naturally put him on the radar of several top Premier League clubs.
Manchester United and Manchester City are reportedly leading the chase, while Liverpool has shown interest after witnessing Semenyo’s brace at Anfield.
The Reds’ interest could intensify due to Alexander Isak’s recent injury.
Premier League Interest Intensifies Around Antoine Semenyo
Chelsea, initially linked with Antoine Semenyo and rumored to have made an enquiry through his representatives, has now decided to step back.
According to David Ornstein of The Athletic, the club “have confidence in the depth and quality of head coach Enzo Maresca’s existing options” and will continue to explore attacking signings for 2026.
Meanwhile, Tottenham Hotspur had also expressed strong interest.
Ornstein told NBC Sports that Semenyo had politely declined their offer, despite the club being prepared to offer a substantial salary, as he focuses on other options.
With multiple Premier League sides circling, the next move for Semenyo is expected to be one of the most closely watched transfer developments this January.
