Barcelona Eye €30 Million Winger Malick Fofana Ahead of Summer Window

FC Barcelona are reportedly monitoring promising young talent Malick Fofana as they prepare for the upcoming summer transfer window, looking to strengthen their attacking options following last year’s acquisition of Roony Bardghji.

Fofana emerges on Barcelona’s radar amid Lyon’s financial recovery

According to Onze Mondial via Mundo Deportivo, the 20-year-old Belgian winger, currently at Olympique Lyon, has caught the attention of the Catalan giants.

Lyon, still navigating a financial recovery, may be open to sales this summer, providing Barcelona with a potential opportunity to secure Fofana for an estimated €30 million — the same fee reportedly being considered to make Marcus Rashford’s loan move permanent.

Fofana has had limited appearances this season due to a right ankle injury sustained in October, featuring in just nine Ligue 1 matches while scoring twice and assisting once. Last season, however, he demonstrated his attacking potential with 11 goals and six assists in 41 appearances, attracting interest from clubs such as Liverpool as a potential replacement for Luis Diaz.

Despite his current injury recovery, Barcelona appear keen to track the Belgian winger, assessing whether he could complement their squad if they decide not to pursue other options, including making Rashford’s move permanent.

The coming months will reveal whether Barcelona act on their interest in Fofana or remain focused on consolidating their existing squad for next season.
