Harry Kane isn’t just scoring in Bavaria — he’s recruiting. The England captain has reportedly been working behind the scenes to lure national teammate Marc Guehi to Bayern Munich, hoping to bring the Crystal Palace defender to the Bundesliga either in January or when the season draws to a close.
Kane’s Quiet Mission Behind the Curtain
Guehi’s situation gives Kane plenty of room to maneuver.
The 25-year-old’s contract expires next summer, and Palace have already acknowledged that their captain will walk — whether for a fee in January or for nothing at all once his deal runs out.
Liverpool nearly landed him on deadline day in September for £35 million, only for Palace to pull the plug as they failed to secure a replacement.
The Reds are expected to return for him in the upcoming window, though a lower £25 million fee has been floated across several reports.
Despite signing Giovanni Leoni from Parma over the summer, Liverpool’s plans were thrown into chaos when the young defender suffered a season-ending ACL injury on his debut.

That setback leaves the Premier League champions weighing their options — and Guehi remains high on their list.
But Liverpool aren’t alone. Across Europe, elite clubs are circling.
Bayern Munich, sitting comfortably atop the Bundesliga, have been tracking Guehi for weeks and now have Kane pushing the narrative from within.
From January 1st, Guehi can legally sign a pre-contract with any non-English club, giving Bayern the chance to steal a march on Liverpool — and potentially to tempt him without paying a fee.
Meanwhile, both Real Madrid and Barcelona have kept tabs on the England defender as part of a wider search for long-term backline reinforcements.
Real Madrid were previously linked with Ibrahima Konaté, another defender whose deal expires in the summer, but recent indications suggest they’ve cooled their interest and shifted their focus toward Guehi.
Back in England, Guehi delivered another standout display in Palace’s midweek 1-0 win at Burnley, responding impressively after their narrow defeat to Manchester United.
The Eagles now look to make it consecutive league victories as they head across London to face Fulham at Craven Cottage.
As for Bayern, they approach Saturday’s clash with Stuttgart holding an eight-point lead at the Bundesliga summit — and perhaps sensing that the next major reinforcement to their title charge could arrive courtesy of Harry Kane’s persuasive charm.
