Manchester City injury and suspension list vs Tottenham
Pep Guardiola will head into Saturday evening’s second Premier League fixture of the season against Tottenham without at least five key players they are:-
(Kovaci- Rodri – Savinho- Echeverri- Foden)
Kovacic has been sidelined for Man City since May, and the Croatian midfielder is not expected to return before October. His absence from the upcoming Vatreni squad for the September internationals all but confirms that his recovery will take longer.
Rodri, who missed the majority of the 2024-25 campaign with a cruciate ligament injury, made a brief comeback late in the season and featured in the Club World Cup.
However, lingering concerns over his knee are likely to keep him out once again, as he was seen watching from the stands during City’s 4-0 victory over Wolve.
Foden, also spotted alongside Rodri at Molineux, failed a late fitness test ahead of that match. Nevertheless, with another week of recovery training, the England international could make his return here following a short spell on the sidelines.
Guardiola confirmed before the Wolves clash that Gvardiol is still not ready to feature, meaning this game may come too soon for him as well. However, his inclusion in Croatia’s upcoming squad suggests he could be back before the international break.

Echeverri has been unavailable since suffering an ankle injury in the Club World Cup clash with Al-Ain in June, and the young attacking midfielder is expected to remain out of contention this weekend.
Meanwhile, Savinho missed the friendly against Palermo before the season began and was also absent at Molineux. Guardiola has since revealed that the Brazilian winger will be sidelined for a few weeks.
