Real Madrid Finalize Their First Signings for the New Season

Media reports revealed on Sunday the signings that Real Madrid are expected to announce at the start of the new season, as Los Blancos look to reinforce the squad following a disappointing campaign this year.

Real Madrid experienced major instability this season, highlighted by the departure of Xabi Alonso from his position as head coach after the team’s 3-2 loss to Barcelona in the Spanish Super Cup final, in addition to their elimination from the Round of 16 of the Copa del Rey at the hands of Albacete.

Real Madrid Finalize Their First Signings for the New Season

According to AS newspaper, Real Madrid have identified the center-back and midfield positions as top priorities in the upcoming summer transfer window. Vitinha, the Paris Saint-Germain midfielder, is considered the club’s main target to strengthen the midfield, while AZ Alkmaar’s Kees Smit is viewed as the second option after the Portuguese international.

The report added that Real Madrid are also keeping a close eye on Endrick and Nico Paz, who are currently on loan at Olympique Lyon and Como, respectively.

Endrick is playing on loan with Lyon until the end of the current season, while Real Madrid hold a buy-back option for Nico Paz from Como for €9 million.

The newspaper explained that Real Madrid have reached an agreement with Nico Paz to return to the team next season. The player had sought a move away in 2024 in order to secure regular playing time and prove himself at Como under coach Cesc Fàbregas, aiming to earn a call-up to the Argentina national team. Paz achieved his goal and is expected to be part of Argentina’s squad for the upcoming summer World Cup.

It concluded that Paz believes the conditions are ideal for a return to Real Madrid, while the situation appears different for Endrick, who has struggled to get sufficient playing time this season amid the presence of Kylian Mbappé and Gonzalo García.
