As the anticipation for El Clasico reaches its peak, Barcelona wonderkid Lamine Yamal has reportedly held urgent talks with the club following what has been described as an “uncomfortable situation” surrounding his recent weeks.
According to Catalunya Radio, Barcelona sporting director Deco arranged a private meeting between Yamal, his representatives led by super-agent Jorge Mendes, and senior club officials.
The discussions reportedly aimed to “stabilize the situation” and ensure the young star remains focused ahead of Sunday’s blockbuster clash against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu — a match that could send Barça to the top of La Liga.

The meeting was characterized as a “support visit,” amid growing concern within the club that balancing the Lamine Yamal phenomenon with Barcelona’s competitive demands has created internal tension and pressure.
Lamine Yamal’s Struggles Behind the Smile
Yamal’s season has been disrupted by a persistent groin injury, which sidelined him for five matches and continues to cause “pubic discomfort.”
The issue first emerged during international duty with Spain, where he played through pain after being cleared by the national team’s medical staff.
Barcelona coach Hansi Flick openly criticized the decision, stating: “This is not taking care of players.” Despite his struggles, the 18-year-old returned in style during Wednesday’s 6–1 Champions League victory over Olympiacos, scoring a penalty — his third goal of the season — in a display that reminded fans of his brilliance and resilience.
All Eyes on El Clasico
The talks between Yamal and the club come at a delicate moment, as Barcelona navigates off-field distractions and injury challenges before their crucial encounter with Real Madrid.
Earlier this week, La Liga postponed Barça’s proposed December fixture against Villarreal in Miami — which would have been the first European domestic league match played outside Europe — due to what organizers called “insufficient time.”
The move drew widespread criticism from players and pundits alike, adding another layer of uncertainty around the club.
Still, all focus now shifts toward El Clasico.
With Robert Lewandowski still sidelined, Yamal is expected to start at the Bernabéu — carrying not just the hopes of Barcelona fans, but also the burden of his growing legend.
