Warren Zaire-Emery Linked to Liverpool Following Key Coaching Appointment

Liverpool’s interest in Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Warren Zaire-Emery appears to be intensifying following the club’s recruitment of a key figure from the player’s past.

The 19-year-old Frenchman, who is already a Champions League winner and a regular for the French national team, has long been on the radar of Liverpool’s scouting department.

Despite being used in various positions this season, Zaire-Emery remains one of Europe’s most highly-regarded young talents, with over 150 appearances for PSG.

Midfield Uncertainty at Liverpool

The potential pursuit of Zaire-Emery comes amid growing uncertainty regarding Liverpool’s current midfield options.

Key players, including Dominik Szoboszlai, Alexis Mac Allister, Ryan Gravenberch, and Curtis Jones, have yet to extend their contracts despite ongoing discussions.

Jones, in particular, has entered the final 18 months of his deal, while Mac Allister and Szoboszlai are reportedly attracting interest from Real Madrid.

Given these factors, Liverpool may find themselves needing to reinforce their midfield department significantly in the coming windows.

The Coaching Connection

While Zaire-Emery is an academy product with a contract in Paris until 2029, a new development at Anfield could play a role in a future move.

The Reds recently appointed Bafode Diakhaby as a Youth Player Development coach.

Diakhaby previously worked closely with Zaire-Emery during his developmental years at PSG and has publicly praised the midfielder’s maturity and precocious abilities.

This connection provides The Reds with a strong advocate for the player within the coaching staff, complementing the existing admiration from the recruitment team.

As Zaire-Emery faces stiff competition for his preferred role in the PSG starting lineup, the presence of a familiar mentor at Liverpool could make a move to the Premier League a viable option in the future.
