Chelsea fans have raised eyebrows over Alejandro Garnacho’s reaction following his substitution in the 1-0 Premier League victory against Tottenham Hotspur.
The Argentinian winger, who joined Chelsea from Manchester United in the summer, was handed his fourth consecutive start under manager Enzo Maresca.
Garnacho had impressed previously, opening his Chelsea goalscoring account in last Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to Sunderland at Stamford Bridge.

Garnacho’s Bench Reaction Sparks Debate Among Chelsea Fans
With Blue’s leading 1-0 thanks to Joao Pedro’s 34th-minute goal, Maresca substituted Garnacho in the 66th minute, bringing on Jamie Gittens.
The 20-year-old was visibly frustrated, shaking his head several times while sitting on the bench at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Fans were divided over the winger’s reaction.
Some criticized Garnacho, questioning his attitude and understanding of squad rotation, while others defended him, arguing that he had performed well and did not deserve to be taken off so early.
Comments ranged from, “Does Garnacho think he will always get 90 minutes?” to, “Absolutely unnecessary substitution of Garnacho.”
Chelsea held on to their 1-0 lead, with Gittens missing a late opportunity to secure a more comfortable scoreline.
The victory moves the Blues up to fourth place in the Premier League with 17 points from 10 games, though other top teams including Aston Villa, Manchester City, Sunderland, and Liverpool still have matches remaining that could alter the standings.
