Spanish media have announced the death of Leo Beenhakker, former coach of Real Madrid and Ajax Amsterdam, at the age of 82.
Beenhakker won the Spanish league title with Madrid three times, in addition to claiming the Copa del Rey and the Spanish Super Cup.

He is considered the only coach to have won the Dutch league title with Ajax Amsterdam in two seasons, and later achieved the same feat with Feyenoord in two other seasons.
Beenhakker also managed the Dutch national team during the 1990 World Cup and coached the national teams of Saudi Arabia, Trinidad and Tobago, and Poland.
Leo Beenhakker’s Career with Real Madrid
Beenhakker took over as coach of Real Madrid in 1986, succeeding Luis Molowny. He led the team to three consecutive league titles, as well as the Copa del Rey and the Spanish Super Cup.
He left the club in 1989, and despite his successes, his tenure ended in disappointment after a 5-0 defeat in the European Cup semi-finals against Milan.
