Real Madrid has reportedly established a valuation of €15-20 million for left-back Fran Garcia after preventing him from joining AFC Bournemouth during the winter transfer window.
The 26-year-old was expected to move to the Premier League to reunite with his former Rayo Vallecano manager, Andoni Iraola, but the deal was halted by the Spanish giants.
The collapse of the move reportedly left the player frustrated, leading him to request a separate training session away from the main squad last Saturday.
Why Real Madrid Halted the Transfer
According to reports from Defensa Central, the primary reason for the block was the nature of Bournemouth’s offer.
The English club sought a loan deal without an option to buy, terms that did not align with Real Madrid’s strategy.
President Florentino Perez is traditionally reluctant to sanction winter departures that could weaken the squad, particularly in a defensive line that has struggled with injuries over the past two seasons.
Furthermore, the club’s management preferred to keep the player as a depth option for the remainder of the campaign rather than letting him go temporarily without any long-term financial benefit.

Summer Exit Remains Inevitable
While Fran Garcia remains at the Santiago Bernabeu for now, he is not considered part of the club’s plans for next season. Real Madrid is focused solely on a permanent sale rather than another loan arrangement.
Despite his lack of consistent minutes, Garcia maintains a solid reputation across Europe.
Several Premier League clubs have already begun contacting his representatives to discuss a summer move.
With a formal price tag now set between €15 and €20 million, the defender is widely expected to end his three-year stint in Madrid when the next transfer window opens.
