Mohamed Salah the Closest Successor to Ronaldo at Al-Nassr… Record-Breaking Salary and Saudi Moves to Seal the Deal

Cristiano Ronaldo missed Al-Nassr’s last two matches, as he continues his boycott of games due to dissatisfaction with the level of support provided by the Saudi Public Investment Fund to his club during the winter transfer window.

Mohamed Salah is considered one of the Saudi Pro League’s top targets, especially with only one year remaining on his contract with Liverpool, which expires in 2027.

Spanish newspaper Marca, citing Britain’s Mirror, reported that as uncertainty grows around Cristiano Ronaldo’s future in Saudi Arabia, Mohamed Salah’s name has emerged as the primary successor to the Portuguese star at Al-Nassr.

The report added that the Saudi Pro League is strongly preparing to sign Mohamed Salah, with a salary that would be three times his current earnings at Liverpool, which stand at approximately £400,000 per week.

Following Ronaldo’s recent decisions, Saudi league officials made it clear that each club has its own independent decisions, and no player—regardless of their importance—can dictate the club’s overall strategy. Nevertheless, doubts continue to surround Ronaldo’s future with Al-Nassr.

Marca noted that the Saudi Pro League views Mohamed Salah as the ideal symbol for the next phase, given his global fame, continued record-breaking achievements, and cultural influence that extends beyond football due to his Arab identity.

The report confirmed that Saudi Arabia has already begun outlining its future plans, which are expected to be led by Mohamed Salah, believing that betting on him will be successful based on the remarkable records he achieved last season.

The report concluded that signing Mohamed Salah as a global superstar would generate even more excitement and anticipation around Saudi Pro League matches.
